Arriving in Patong with no accommodation booked

Can I get some opinions about arriving in Patong with no accommodation booked?

This is for January 9-16 with a group of 8 people. Is this crazy? Will we be left with dodgy hotels far from the beach to choose from?

Apparently you can score cheap rooms by doing this but I%26#39;m not so sure about doing this is peak time..

You could get rooms, however they won%26#39;t be your first choice and your group could end up split between several establishments.

It is unlikely that you would save much during peak season by last minute searching for vacancies.

For peace of mind - book ahead.

You will get something but you may not get anything cheap. Go to last minute.com and book from there or do a quick search and book it now as it%26#39;s not too late. Don%26#39;t go without a booking.
