Metadee Resort fake Reviews?

Hmmmm, very interesting that the last 3 TA reviews posted on this new resort in Kata beach are written by gentlemen from different countries with the identical profile descriptions who are submitting their first ever reviews!

Metadee Resort fake Reviews?

There%26#39;s a reporting facility at the bottom of each review. If you think they stink, let TA know that way and they can look into it.

Metadee Resort fake Reviews?

The interesting thing about fake reviews is that they are harmless if they are accurate. If, however, a fake review misrepresents the establishment then this is another matter entirely. I am waiting for the proverbial to hit the fan with at least one ';much vaunted'; hotel on this site.

This is an intriguing phenomenon that appears in quite a few TA reviews of accommodation houses. It is hard not to be cynical of the reviewer who joins TA specifically to leave a single review. However, it is difficult to disprove the reviewer%26#39;s veracity.

Be alert but not alarmed.

It%26#39;s pretty clear that some businesses are encouraging their guests to post a review on TA, to get themselves an advantage over their competition.

Always amusing when the same business owners post on TA to bleat and whine about the fairness of the rating system, labelling it ';dishonest';.

It is concerning though when they are seen to promote their business on the forums without declaring their intimate association - their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Fourb2, now I know you%26#39;re an educated man.

Transparency of a poster%26#39;s assocation has only recently been queried in this forum:

tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g1210687-i12719-k3…

Credibility will always be questioned if posters do not announce this affiliation in every post.

Shooshy61 I thought the same thing!

If you think this is bad - you should just take a look at the Vietnam forum - particularly posts about Hanoi hotels - I would say for every ';fairdinkum'; review from regular t%26#39;advisors, there are 50 ';1'; posting reviews. It%26#39;s extremely difficult to sort out the touts promoting their hotel from the genuine ones.

However, TA seems to be well-known in Vietnam, and I am sure the hotels ask most of their guests to post a report on their hotel (perhaps with the staff behind them on the internet prompting them (in their broken English) to rave about the place.

Because of this, I do try %26amp; put an informative review on the places I have stayed - good or bad. Luckily, thanks to TA, I have always selected well %26amp; not had any problems with where we stay.

Cheers,

Sandy

Hi.

I have also noticed this pattern for many other resorts/hotels on Phuket.

I am now more sceptical about reviewers whom have only posted once or a few times.

Last week I read an honest review of another resort (Karon) that highlighted many negatives. It was removed within 1-2 days from TA. We had already left this place early because of it%26#39;s negatives. Had we seen this report we would not have booked there. I think this review should have remained on TA and cannot understand why it was removed.

We are currently at Malisa Suites/Villas (Kata) and have been for 8 nights and loving it. We would definately recommend this place.

Mynatty, you should post a review on the place in Karon. With your contribution record it would have credibility. If you do I would also suggest, and this is fair to say for all reviewers, you do not go overboard with criticisms. This, I suspect, is what gets reviews pulled.

I suspect that hotel management has decided to contribute a few glowing reviews of their resort to boost their numerical standing on TA and to encourage potential visitors.

Three reviews in a row from first time contributors could of course be coincedental. What is really suspicious is that if you click on each of the reviewers names to have a look at their profiles they have answered the questions identically........e.g for'; my travel style'; each reviewer has replied ';Nothing but the best';. seems a bit strange that three gentlemen from three different countries have got identical answers!
