Bangkok with kids?

Hi,

I might have ask this before.

I am still contemplating bringing my 3 kids, 3, 4 and 8 to BKK in Dec.

As they are young, I am afraid I can%26#39;t handle them or I do not know where to bring them. This is even stranger when I have been to BKK several times.

I am on a budget so I am try to reduce cost. I will be staying in Abloom hopefully.

1. Is it a good idea bringing my kids at this age to BKK?

2. I have research the places they can go and I have thinking of bringing them to Dreamland, Jamboree in Emporium, Seacon Plaza and some shopping centers. Saim Discovery Aquarium and Safari is out for cost reason. Is there any other places I can bring them without breaking an arm or a leg?

Thanks.

If your kids are rugged trekkers, and can stick together, give it a go. But, if they tend to be stragglers, are easily distracted, or wander about, GOOD LUCK!

Bangkok isn%26#39;t child-safe. People are expected to look after themselves.

Bangkok with kids?

Hi mousehunt

I agree with Curt in that, if the kids tend to wander off by themselves, it can be a problem. Think you%26#39;ve been to BKK many times, so you%26#39;d know abt the crowds, etc. But if you and wife can keep a constant watch and hold on to the 3 and 4 year olds, and advise the 8 year old to stay close, it may be doable.

Another suggestion is to keep things slow. Packing alot into one day can translate to grouchy kids and alot of strain on the parents. So, I%26#39;d advise not packing too much into the day and spending afternoons at home.

As for places, I%26#39;d avoid Chatuchak and Platinum Mall as there is little to interest kids. I wonder if Dreamworld is worth the long trip.

All the best to you.

I travelled to Phuket and bangkok for the first time in aug with my husband, 3 year old son and 1.5 year old daughter..my kids are not the easiest of kids but they had a great time in thailand. in Bangkok we took them tothe aquaria in siam paragon, Safari world, Dreamworld and they had a blast...

Didnt do any tours in bangkok except for the grand palace (on our own) and we left the place 30 minutes later without seeing much because of the extreme heat which bothered the kids...My kids loved hanging out in the malls and specially in the kids play area in Isetan central world plaza and the kids area in paragon dept store in siam paragon.. Maybe coz my kids are younger and i strap both of them to their strollers in the crowded areas in the mall i wasnt worried about them getting lost in the crowds..but if your kids like to wander yes it could be hard to watch more then 1 young child.

Childrens museum at Chatuchat Park and several indoor play areas in Bangkok shopping malls. Take them to Dreamworld, they%26#39;ll love it. Get skytrain to Mochit (chatuchat park) then taxi to Dreamworld and pay entrance fee, much cheaper that way. Thai people love kids so no worry there.
