Boattrip from thailand into cambodia

We, a family with 2 kids(7 and 8) would like to visit nord-eastern Thailand.

How many days do we need?

Any tips for childfriendly hotels along the way??

Could we include a boattrip on the Mekong river into Cambodia.

What should we include along the way??

Any help is welcome!!!

The north east is fascinating and very big, so much depends on what you want to see. Most hotels are child friendly, but if you mean play areas etc then that may not be easy to specify. I don%26#39;t think there are passenger services into Cambodia from Thailand (not 100% sure) due to waterfalls etc but there are regular cross river ferries into Laos, and cruise boats going to China - you need visa for all those countries.

In Buriram province visit Prasat Hin Phanom Rung (ancient Khymer ruins) and the huge Buddha image on Khao Kradong.

This website is useful (select ';Northeast';):

We are not interested in play areas. We are looking for hotels with a small pool for the kids. Half a day for visiting the area(including the Kmer temples)and for the rest of the day relaxing with the kids.
