Riverside or Sukhumvit???

I am visiting Bangkok with my family of 4 including 2 teenage girls. We have looked at both Riverside of Sukhumvit, the more we look the more confused we are. Please could you give us some advice.

Riverside or Sukhumvit???

It may boil down to personal choice.

We stayed riverside. We had use of the skytrain and the river taxis to see tourist sites and metered taxis were cheap from our hotel to take us to the shopping malls. And the of course the hotel was wonderful.

Riverside or Sukhumvit???

We%26#39;ve visited Bangkok five times and stayed in five different areas including riverside and Sukhumvit. Both areas are great for dining. Access to the Skytrain is our main priority as it lets you get around the city quickly. Metered taxis are cheap but the traffic is horrendous a lot of the day.

Depending on how you you plan to use your time, of course.

Riverside is good for sitting around watching the passing river traffic (and there is lots), more of an expedition to get prepared for shopping and eating out. Use the river for slow, leisurely travel

Sukhumvit is good for being able to %26#39;%26#39;pop out%26#39;%26#39; for bits and pieces of shopping and food, there are more and varied restaurants and you are right on the skytrain, from the hotels on lower Sukhumvit..

Depending on their ages the teenagers would be able to travel about independantly, more easily, from Sukhumvit.

Both areas are great!

I just wanted to thank you for asking the question. I was wondering the same exact thing. We are a group of 4 in our 20%26#39;s and will probably stay in Sumkhumvit area.

thank you for your advise, we have booked Marriot exec sathorn vista apartment...got a really good deal. Will be back for more advise on itinerary. We%26#39;re in Thailand for 9 nights so have had to reduce our over ambitious itinerary from 3 to 2 centre.
