Travel Time to Bangkok FROM Koh Tao- HOW LONG does it take??

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to travel from Koh Tao to Bangkok? Do you have to catch a ferry from koh Tao to Koh Samui and then a flight from Koh Samui to Bangkok? If so, how long will each part of the trip take- the ferry and the flight? I have a flight at Bangkok to make at 3:20 pm and I want to make sure I can make it in time if I%26#39;m leaving from Koh Tao in the morning.. Thanks!!

If I were you, I%26#39;d plan to get to Bangkok the day before you fly out.

It%26#39;s a 2-hour, 65 km boat trip from Koh Tao to Koh Samui. Boats are often delayed or cancelled due to bad weather or heavy seas.

So, presuming everything goes like clockwork, the earliest boat is at 09:30, arriving Samui at 11:30. There%26#39;s no flight at 12:00 or at 13:00. So the earliest flight you could hope to get would be the Bangkok Airways one at 14:00. That doesn%26#39;t get into Suvarnabhumi until 15:30. Game over.

The simplest, most stress-free, way would be to take the Lomphraya catamaran/bus combination via Chumphon, leaving Tao at 10:15 and arriving in Bangkok at 20:30. Have a good night%26#39;s sleep and a leisurely breakfast in a hotel in Bangkok and make your way to the airport.
