Is Koh Samui Expensive????

Just reading through some reviews, some say that it is now expensive to eat, shop etc in Koh Samui. Is this true? I%26#39;m on a budget.

We are staying at Paradise Beach Resort in Maenam, are there any 7/11%26#39;s nearby?

no ,we dont find samui expensive at all ,there are of course upmarket places that will empty your wallet rapidly enough but for every place like that there are several very cheap options .we also stay in maenam and its certainly cheaper than central chaweng .try a beach shack for a good meal .yes there is a 7/11 in mae nam..

rene u can try the small local restaurants good thai food if u like to eat thai i paid around 100 baht for a meal of course 7/11 is always an option cheers

We stayed at the Hutcha hotel in July and found not one but three 7/11 shops along the main road. All within 15 min walking distance. Also found an excellent Thai food restaurant in one of the side streets where every main course was as little as 40 Bht. It is part of Chaiwat%26#39;s tattoo place. Hope this helps.

Samui Paradise Beach Maenam is on the higher price side. I%26#39;m curious what good deal you got. Rent a bike to reach the shops at the ring road faster.

To concretemixer... we went through Trip Advisor decided where we wanted to go and stay, then headed to a few travel agencies got quotes for a package. Then they started to compete against each other for our business. We went with Flight Centre because they were so helpful and of course gave us a great deal.

Concretemixer I would hire a bike but I%26#39;m a bit accident prone...best for me to stay away from them!!!
