I keep seeing messages about Kantok Dinner. Could someone explain to me what it is and if it%26#39;s worth going to?
Thank you!
What is Kantok Dinner?I have never been to one of these dinners, its really not my type of thing. Maybe some of the others on this forum will have been and have comments. I have provided a link below:

I think that there are more than this one place that does this style of dinner.
What is Kantok Dinner?Kantoke Dinners are meals served on small tables (kantokes) with the diners sitting on cushions on the floor.
The organized kantoke dinners, such as at Old Chiang Mai Cultural Center or Khum Kantoke, offer entertainment in the form of Thai music and traditional dances while you eat. And menus that include chicken, pork, chili paste, sticky rice, sweet noodle, etc.
They are an interesting change of pace for dinner and I%26#39;d say worth the trip.
We did the Kantoke dinner at the Old Chiang Mai Cultural Centre.. and we had a great night...
cost from memory about 300bht.. this included return transfers from hotel and dinner... just had to pay for drinks.. seating in on cushions on the floor around round tables and they come and serve your food... and keep coming back and topping it up as needed... had the best masaman curry... :)
there is a stage and they have various cultural dances and performances whilst dinner is being eaten.. and they have some crowd participation as well... once the show is over and dinner is complete outside there is some stalls with local stuff and an outdoor stage area which has more performances ....
it was a good night out at a very reasonable price.. and you were still back at the hotel in time to wander the night markets ect if you wanted...
