Flights Christmas 2010

I would love to go to Cha Am for christmas and New Year 2010 (yes I know it%26#39;s planning early!!) and have had a quote already from Dreamticket for a package. However, I wonder if somebody could give me a rough idea of the flight prices around Christmas. I don%26#39;t want to pass up a reasonable price for the package, only to find the flights are very expensive.

The best flights for December 2010 will be on sale around 330 days before depature. We normally book our flights for flying out at the end of December around mid March / early April.

However, the cost of December / Christmas flights is usually expensive and expect to pay ￡200 more than other times of year, unless you are getting %26#39;bum%26#39; flight times (ie a 12hour stop over somehwhere each way!)

Anyone offering a package for next December has no real idea what the flights will cost, as the airlines have not released the seats yet and are gambling on the flights will be around the cost they are at the present time. Dreamticket are offering the same holiday for the same price for the same 2 weeks in 2009 and 2010!!

I think that was an ';opening offer'; for the new AirAsiaX Stansted to Kuala Lumpur service but it is worth registering for AirAsia%26#39;s Email alerts to monitor when their special offers are on. The Traveller UK is also another good source (Free phone service) at http://www.thetravelleruk.com/index.php especially if you fancy a stopover in Singapore as they specilaise in SAS flights. Cheapest flights tend to be with the Gulf airlines, Emirates, Qatar and Etihad with Jet (Indian) also having cheaper flights.

It wasnt an opening offer, you can get that price now for some flights. I tend to make myself a member for every airline then I recieve all offers.

flight prices drop a little if you travel 25th/26th December, I usually book my flights end of January with Trailfinders/Travelbag /ebookers or netflights. If you book flight only, usually have to pay in full, if you book flight and some accomodation then it is classed as a package and you can reserve with deposit. My son likes to travel around 20th December and usually flys with jetairways to BKK as they seem to be best price for peak dates
