Hi all,
I%26#39;d be visiting Bangkok next weekend with my best friend and our trip is mostly about shopping! But we are also planning to visit some of the temples in Bangkok and was wondering what is the best way to go around these temples (Grand Palace, Wat Arun). Is it better to use a taxi, tuk-tuk or just use the Skytrain? We%26#39;d be staying at Pratunam...
Thanks

Temple Tours - Taxi, Tuk-tuks or Trains?Yes.
From wherever you are, take the BTS skytrain to ';Saphan Taksin';. From there, you can use the express boats to visit all the riverside sights.
Tuk tuks have their place. But, for most tourists, they are a never ending source for scams.
Around tourist sights, and hotels, taxis can be problematic. Never bother with a parked taxi, and never ever accept a ride from a driver that approaches you. Always flag a passing taxi, preferably after walking a short distance from the front of a tourist venue.
The Grand Palace would be the Tha Chang pier. After getting off the boat, head straight inland, ignoring the 20 or so touts that will offer to ';help';, and continue inland until you reach the Palace entrance.
Thanks!
So can I say that the temples are all within the same area (Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun)? And they are all accessible by boats?
Thanks again :)
Yes, those three are together. Wat Pho is just south of the Palace. Wat Arun is across the river, with a ferry running from Tha Tian.
All three are easily accessible by water taxi.
