We have been looking at staying at Outrigger Villas at Laguna Beach in March 2010,the images on there web site are of the Sheraton Grand Villas and the web site says the Outrigger opens December 2009 which is a bit confusing.Has anyone been to this area recently and can tell us the exact location of the Outrigger Villas,we have been to the area before so if you could say it is near which of the other resorts we will know the position.Thanks for any info

We were at the Allamanda in aug 09 the only building going on in the area was down on the beach opp the Banyan Tree Resort [go straight passed the Allamanda to where the road goes to the right there is a lane there to the left that is where it must be]

Laguna Resorts has relatively recently contracted out management of some aspects of its properties and if you go to their website at:

you will see that Outrigger is taking over management of the Holiday Residences which are maybe 400 meters or so from the BACK entrance to the Banyan Tree Resort (where the double pool villas are located).

and if you look for #21 - you will find what you are looking for.
That area is not quite as convenient to the beach, nor does it have access to the lagoon ferry - but it is served by the free shuttle that runs through all of the resort. The villas are quite nice - pretty much the same thing as the ';golf villas'; that Sheraton once offered (but that might soon be managed differently too?).
Most of the villas face on to a very nice lagoon - nice area. Not convenient to walk to the beach but the shuttle does come by regularly.
