Nearer 12 hours by bus. Air Asia or Nok Air will fly you in an hour for not much more than the bus fare.

Checked the airasia flight for 4 and it costs us S$80 plus each for a return tix from phuket to bangkok...does any of you have any idea when there%26#39;ll be a promotion for airasia?

Those prices really depend on what%26#39;s still available. Lots of places left, low prices, not much left, high prices.

A comfortable bus to Bangkok will be around 1000 Baht pp, 2000 Baht return, so around 65 US$ return pp.

$15.00 dollars difference to save a day of relaxation over a long bus trip.
