off to phuket soon around karon beach and trying to decide wether too take my snorkle and fins is there any decent snorkleing in the area and in phuket in general

There are your typical tropical snorkeling sites so take your gear. Not so much around Karon, but plenty elsewhere.

same question earlier...Some snorkeling around phuket but .Definately take a day trip.Ko racha is less than an hour away.Or ko phi phi.With great sites...Kata has some coral towards the island.

Between November to April the southern end of Karon Beach offers a pleasant snorkelling site. Also both ends of Kata beach and the southern end of Kata Noi Beach is worth a visit.

For a great day out Koh Racha Yai is well worth it and any of the many Dive Centers on Phuket can arrange this day trip for you.

I wouldn%26#39;t bother taking my gear from home though. Most tour operators include the mask as part of the tour price, and fins can be rented seperately. This rental is around 100b per day.
