Hi,
I see a lot of frequent travellers to Koh Samui on this forum. I am thinking this forum should help me.
I am scheduled to travel to Samui for 4 days this December on my honeymoon. We will be staying in the Renaissance Koh Samui Resort and Spa. I%26#39;ve got mixed reviews of the place but I really wanted to use my rewards points that I had collected over the years.
Is it a good choise among the hotels in the area? We are looking for a little solitude and do not mind travelling a little to get to the action.
What, in your opinion, should we not miss while we in Samui? Remember that we got only 4 days. One thing that we really want to do is scube dive. Both of us have never dived before and we are looking forward to the experience.
We will be travelling to Bali before we go to Samui. How different would the 2 experiences be?
Looking forward to get some help from you guys..
Things I should do when I am in Koh Samui
If you want to learn to scuba dive, I would get certified before you get to Samui otherwise a lot of your 4 days will be spent doing the PADI course. Although part of the course will include some dives. Otherwise you could just try snorkelling. Bali has some really good dive spots also.
Of the 2 places I prefer Samui over Bali although I love both places. Both the Thais and Balinese are beautiful people and the food in both is fantastic.
Enjoy
Garry

If you get the chance to run over the parasites with scratchies, thats an oportunity you shouldnt miss
Thanks a lot, Gary! Its difficult for me to get certified before I get to Samui.. but I guess its ok.. even snorkelling excites me..
And yes, I%26#39;ve heard a lot about the hospitability at these places.. And I just love thai food..
Any idea about the renaissance itself? I hear they give out kayaks to explore in the ocean.. That should be something I would look forward to..
In Samui
- Anthong Marine Park - a must!
- tour around the island
- walk in the jungle
- eat on the beach at night!
- you may be able to get a learners dive (they escort you as a teaser)
Eat, drink and relax!
Enjoy
Thanks a lot, sunline11..This is good information.
