Looking for great beach-and hotel on beach

I have read on various forums that Phi Phi and other areas in Krabi province do not have great hotels beaches for laying out, snorkeling, swimming, etc and that you need to travel vi alongtail or 15 minute walk to experience great beaches.

Has anyone stayed at a nice hotel that also had a very swimmable/relaxing/quiet and beautiful beach attached?

We are planning on staying somewhere near Krabi (maybe west railay) Phi Phi and one other place (tbd)

Thanks!

Thanks!

Sounds like you are after the Amari Vogue Resort or Tubkaak Resort. Both are located on arguably one of Krabi%26#39;s finest beaches - Tub Kaek beach, where only 2-3 resorts share the beach that overlooks the Hong Islands. Amazing beach, good swimming and only a 20min longtail ride to the Hong Islands right out the front of the resort.

We stayed at the Amari Vogue back in June and loved it. Absolute 5 star luxury and service with amazing views from sitting in our terrazzo jaccuzzi on our balcony! Thank you!

West Railay is a fantastic beach! We stayed at Railay Village in January 2009 and are going back there this December. The resort and the rooms there were gorgeous and spacious with beautiful landscaping and 2 fabulous pools. Railay Bay is also recommended on West Railay. Sand Sea resort is a cheaper option also on West Railay. The backdrop on west railay can%26#39;t be beat.. limestone cliffs surround the whole area. The beach is soft white sand. There are no roads, only walkways. LOVED IT!

A bonus is west railay is a leisurely 10 min walk from another gorgeous beach Phra Nang.

Hi,

I would recomend that you look at Tubkaak Beach and Railay west railay much nicer than east which is a bit of a mangrove swamp. Traveling by longtail is a great way to go and so much fun to the nearby off shore islands which have beautifull beaches and some great snorkeling.

I strong recommend Railay Beach, especially, West side location.

Railay Bay Resort and Spa, enjoys beach swimming pool, Cool bar for your cocktail.

Sand Sea Resort : Fan bungalow and air con available

and Railay Village Resort is quiet boutique style.

Try Agoda.com/Expedia to compare pricing and deals.

Cheers,

Timmy

We are looking to stay at one of these Hotels in December. Can you tell us if there are any good beach bars and shack restaurants near by the resorts?

Thanks, V

The Amari Vogue and The Tubkaak Resort%26#39;s are located on the relatively isol;ated Tub Kaek beach. The Amari has an Italian themed outdoor rerwtaurnat right on the edge of the beach. the Tubkaaek Resort%26#39;s restaurnat is no far from the beach but a bit further back. there are no hawkers or stalls located on or near Tub Kaek beach. It is beautiful and unspoilt with amazing views of the Hong Islands. Only a few long tail operators work off the beach for which you can hire for day trips etc.

The Amari Vogue and The Tubkaak Resorts are not within walking distance of any other restaurants or bars apart from each other. they are about a 10min drive to the Sofitel, Sheraton and Nakamanda Resorts where there are a few other local restaurants and an Irish Bar. It is a 20min drive into Ao Nang from Tub Kaek Beach and an even greater choice of restaurants and bars.

Hope this helps.

There are several restaurants on Railay, both on the west and the east side. Not sure how many bars there are on the east side, although it%26#39;s the more ';lively'; side for that type of entertainment. There is one beach bar on the west side. Railay really is wonderful. No roads, only walkways. Love it there!
