advice on what area to stay if visiting Grand Palace?

I need to book a hotel for a group of 7 adults and 1 child- all family. They have not travelled before so need somewhere low-risk and clean/modern. They are only really visiting the Grand Palace- so close to that or airport is good- so much choice makes it very confusing. Looking to speand up to $150 per night.

lamphu tree house , rated in the top 20 hotels out of over 500 ,convenient location and well within your budget .take a look under bangkok hotels .

ps dont believe the scammers who operate outside the grand palace who will tell you its closed ,to try to lure you into a jewellry scam, and dont use tuk tuks..

Anywhere near the BTS skytrain would work out. You can take the BTS to Saphan Taksin, then the express boat to Tha Chang (N9) and walk to the Palace.

';Clean/modern';, for less than 5000 THB, for 7 people......

';Clean'; is possibly doable, but the modern part will be tough.

oh 150 aussie dollars for 7 people is that what you mean ? have a look at diamond house ,last year the were doing 1200bht a room per night ..

Living here, I don%26#39;t do hotels much. But looking around, I came across this:

The two biggest complaints seem to be noise and a lack of breakfast.

As far as noise goes, WELCOME TO THAILAND! Unless you pay top dollar, you%26#39;re likely going to get noise. I always travel with my ';magic beans'; (earplugs).

As far as food goes, you%26#39;re right in the Saochingcha district, home of some great eats!

If you click on the ';Show Map'; link on the hotel page, you%26#39;ll also find other stays in the area.
