Tiger Temple visit

I would like to visit a tiger temple while staying in Thailand, i am staying in Cha am for 7 nights. Does anyone know where the nearest place would be??

Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi...when you come back from Hua-Hin by trian just get off at Nakhonprathom then take bus to Kanchanaburi then take taxi to Tiger Temple (far from Kanchanaburi town)but this way is quite difficult event Thai People.I recommend you back to Bangkok by train then take day trip to go there %26#39;cause cheaper and more convenience.

a taxi to the tiger temple would be about 2800 bht return,its about 2.5-3 hrs away so if you were doing this i would recomend setting of early in the morning

for eg 0700 then you would get a decent day there

thanks for the info, i%26#39;m thinking the taxi would be the most convenient way, do you have any recomendations, also is the tiger temple near the floating market? do you think it would be possible to do both in the same day?

We did both the floating market and tiger temple as a one day tour when we were in Thailand. Both heading in the same direction though a few miles apart. Both well worth a visit.

hi Daisy, did you do an excursion, or did u just take a taxi and do the trip yourself?

We were staying in Bangkok at the time and did a tour with Tong. She has her own website if you google it. She is very popular and you need to book plenty of time in advance. We then moved south to Hua Hin. It was a full day for us so travelling from a more southern point would be a long day. It was a wonderful experience.

I have been to Hua Hin %26amp; Cha Am a couple of times - to my knowledge there is no Tiger Temple. However there is one situated up near the River Kwai. Can%26#39;t remember the name of the Province. Something like Katinburi I think it%26#39;s called. It is one hell of a hike to get to. We visited it in June this year. Peronaly I would stay in Bangkok. We arranged it with a Limo company when we landed at Bangkok Airport (we had just come from Phitsonluk). After aload of arguing I finaly got them to agree and pick us up at the hotel @ 05.30 am (they tried to pick us up at 7am but I know from people who have visited you have to leave dead early to miss the circus). It is not a cheap trip either - over ￡100 each. However I perseonaly thought it was well worth it. Here is one link I have tours@tigertemplethailand.com or tigertemple@gmail.com. I managed to speak to one of the volunteers who was English and we got in. Had to sign a disclaimer. It can get boiling hot there as well - we were lucky as it was v overcast when we went. I played with baby cubs and shampoo%26#39;d a larger one. You can play with them in the water - can get a bit rough. We walked one - it was so strong. I personaly had a fantastic day but it is knackering - almost a 12 hr day. You can%26#39;t wear red by the way. Spoke to some people form Singapore and they caught the train from Bangkok - they said OK but very tiring and they stayed overnight at Katchinburi. Personaly if you can afford to stay a couple of nights I would do that. We both looked like a couple of tramps by the time we got back to Bangkok - covered head to toe in mud.

Cha Am (stayed at the Dusit) is not very lively we personaly preferred Hua Hin (stayed at the Sofitel)

Anyway sorry to waffle and I hope you enjoy it if you make it - O and yea I got bitten by one of the cubs (my fault didn%26#39;t tuck my fingeres in like I was told). It is fantastic!!!!

Thank you for all the information - it%26#39;s very useful! I have found that cook travel based in Cha am will do the trip, not sure if they can do both the tiger temple and the floating market on the same day.

Your advise to start at 5.00am is also very handy as I didn%26#39;t realise how early the temple closes.

I am hoping the people at cook travel can pick us up from the hotel in the morning.
