I read from the reviews in TA that we can actually hire a guide juz outside the grand palace. qtns:

1) what is the reasonable fee to pay ?

2) will the guide bring us to cover all the sites in the palace?

also, there is free english guide in the palace itself.

1) what is the timing of the free tour?

2) will the tour cover all the attractions or just a few significant ones?

3) what is the duration of the tour?

Don%26#39;t hire guides outside the GP, many are not licensed. The tour inside is adequate and you see most thing, not sure about tour length but I think about 2 hours.

do u know the tour timings? i read somewhere that tours start at 10am but the grand palace opens at 8.30am and most of the advice is to get there early to avoid the crowds. wondering what is the point of getting there early when the tour has not even started...

I don%26#39;t know the tour time, but if you use the included guide book you don%26#39;t really need a guide, the book explains just about everything...

Remember to take water as it gets very hot walking around the palace area.CJ

one more thing, i have also posted a question on whether we can leave the palace for lunch , then return to do the emerald buddha tour without paying again for admission but there are no replies...do u think you can advise on this?

also, are there any eating places located outside the palace?
