Chiang Mai - Mid December 2009

Hi, I am travelling to Thailand for one month, from mid December to Mid Jan 09/10. I want to visit Chiang Mai for 5 to 7 days during this time.

I would appreciate any tips or reviews on places to stay, I will be traveling alone so a good / popular hostel or guesthouse is the sort of thing I am looking for.

Any information about locations in and around Chiang Mai would be very welcome.

Chiang Mai - Mid December 2009

You can travel to Chiangmai by sleeper train then stay in town visit tempe for 2-3 days and 2-3 days in National Park. After that you can fly down to the south (if you book earlier you can get very good price).

Chiang Mai - Mid December 2009

I will be in Chiang Mai 10-14th December. I would recommend Chiang Mai Thai House as a good base. it is on Soi 5 off Thae Pae Road 2 mins from Moat and Old City and 10 min stroll to Night Market, Ansuran, Kalare Food Court etc.

Clean rooms, swimming pool, great rates. You can find there site on the web and contact them and they will reply quickly.

Lots to do and see in Chiang Mai if you need any further info come back to me, this will be my 10th visit in 5 years.

Thanks for that I will take a look, I am a male in my late 20%26#39;s where else have you stayed in CM? I am looking ideally for a place where I can meet other people of a similar age?

Hi.It is a great time to Chiang Mai during December.

I would recommend Nimmahaeminda Road area.Many restaurant and pubs.
