Railey and Phi Phi in February

Hi Guys,

We%26#39;re a couple planning a two week trip to the Krabi area in February.

We%26#39;re looking to spend those two weeks in two different locations, a week for each. We%26#39;re looking for quiet, romantic beaches, but also places where we can go out for a drink some of the nights. In terms of where to stay, we%26#39;re looking for relatively simple bungalows, with a natural feel (Wooden, with a porch with a hammock or chairs), ideally with an ocean view, romantic. Ideally we%26#39;d like to spend less than 2000 baht per evening, but we%26#39;d pay more for something really up our alley. We%26#39;re not interested in the more fancy high-end places, just because we enjoy the more nature-style places.

I did some reading on the site and thought that a good plan would be to spend a week at Railay Beach and a week at Ko Phi Phi.

Some questions:

1) Does the plan for a week in Railay and a week in Phi Phi sound good according to what we%26#39;re looking for?

2) Is there a place you would recommend instead of one of them, according to what we%26#39;re looking for?

3) Can anyone recommend specific places to stay at Railay/Phi Phi that match the criteria?

Oops, one more question:

4) Do you think it would be wise to book a place to stay in advance? Are the prices published on the different hotel websites the best prices possible?

Hi,

February is high season and you will find that the hotel booking sites are usualy quite good as they can get a contract rate. In the past i have used Agoda and Sawadee with no problems. If you are looking for quiet and unspoiled with nature style places have you had a look at Koh Jum New Bungalows are very nice

Thanks for the tip!

I%26#39;d actually never heard of Koh Jum, and following your advice I did some research, and it sounds like exactly what we%26#39;re looking for! It%26#39;s funny how you can read all the messages in the forum, but if you are fixated on a few names you tend to not even see other options..

I think we will definitely spend one of the two weeks over there, and new bungalows look great..

Any other suggestions by anyone else?
