Phuket Pool Villa recommendations

We are planning a week on Phuket in May and don%26#39;t know where to stay. We had a trip booked to Koh Samui but had to cancel and we were booked into Sandalwood Luxury Villas. We%26#39;re looking for a villa type property with private pool and our budget isn%26#39;t luxurious but is adequate for something reasonably nice. We would be willing to spend up to $6500 THB per night. Does anyone have any recommendations? Our priorities are quiet atmosphere, privacy, relaxation, close to shops/restaurants/markets (within 30 minutes walk is okay), spa on site or nearby, and not run-down or in need of TLC. All help gratefully received!

Phuket Pool Villa recommendations

Hi,

Can%26#39;t make a personal recommendation, apart from Le Meridien in Khao Lak but here%26#39;s a list for you, hope it helps, not all in Phuket though.

The Andaman White Beach looks lovely but the reviews are very mixed; some are excellent and some are absolutely terrible. This worries me! Anyone stayed there recently? It%26#39;s definitely beautiful from the pictures I%26#39;ve seen and it%26#39;s within our budget...but the negative reviews...sigh. Will keep looking and hopefully others will chime into the thread. :)

Most of the others are way over our budget. :(

I thought low season would be less expensive - we can%26#39;t afford to spend what most of these properties are asking. We might have to re-think Phuket...which would be a shame.

We have just booked a garden pool villa at Sala Phuket. It looks stunning and i think it is around the same price as the Andaman.

I just booked a condo here

In the grounds of the Evason six senses spa and you get all the hotel facilities - not a private pool as such but seems to be the best of both worlds

Thanks for the suggestions so far but they%26#39;re all over our budget. We only have around 6000 THB per night to spend - doing the conversions from USD to AUD, we%26#39;re looking at more than that just for the cheapest options at the listed properties. I know it must seem as if we want a lot for not much money but to us, it%26#39;s reasonable to spend up to AUD2000 for a week%26#39;s accommodation. Any more than that is just a waste of hard-earned money (and we don%26#39;t have that much!). It seems only some places post up the inclusive price and most put the prices as +++ which means you%26#39;ve got to add almost 20% to the listed price. I%26#39;ll keep looking and keep everyone posted! :)

Try contacting the Dewa direct. They sent me a flyer for specials from April on. Unfortunately I deleted it. I looked at the website and they don%26#39;t appear to be showing.

Thanks Ange, I%26#39;ve just sent through a request for rates and more info. I%26#39;ve sort of got a short-list and more research to do: Malisa Villas look beautiful but exceed our budget (might need to save a bit more money!); Andaman White Beach Resort still on the list but I%26#39;m not sure because of the reviews; Dewa if we can afford it...

Thanks everyone, please keep the ideas coming! We are really looking forward to getting to Thailand this time. :)

Have you considered Khao Lak or Krabi? I know there are several lovely places in KL that have pool villas - price I%26#39;m not sure about though. A bit of googling will tell you.

We stayed at the Andman W Beach about 3 years ago and was shocked to see some of the reviews. It was wonderful and the sheets on the beds were the best we%26#39;d ever slept on. The Manager sourced them for my and they were egyptian cotton - so I%26#39;m now very spoilt at home.

The service was great, as was the food. Actually, when I think about it, the other people there were either scandinavian/german, but the manager was Italian. Good luck with your hunting.
