Anyone booked with AsiaReservations.net?

Hi guys. We are new to Tripadvisor and have gathered some very useful info so far.

Just wondering if anyone has anyone booked with Asiareservations.net? They have the cheapest price for our hotel of choice in Bangkok (Pathumwan Princess) and just looking for an idea on service.

Cheers

Hello lensydney - yes, i use them regularly and they are always quick to respond to requests and prices are lower than Sawadee and the like.

Enjoy Bangkok. mate.

Anyone booked with AsiaReservations.net?

I am about to try them for the first time - so let me know!

Everything went perfectly - Pathumwan Princess was fantastic and the location really handy for shopping etc. We used the skytrain quite alot to get around the city, although cabs we not too much of a headache at night when traffic was lighter.

I can highly recommend the Pathumwan Princess and Asiareservations.net (they also arranged our airport transfers which were very professional).

I never heard about this website.

I%26#39;d rather recommend to use well known websites such as asiarooms.com

I personally used it a few times and have been very happy with it

we booked our hotel in BKK via ASIA ROOMS, great rates, better than Virtuoso... and they will charge in US currency so there is no exchange rate... very professional... they email a voucher that also has the name of the hotel in Thai, so we can give it to a taxi driver when we arrive in BKK.

I found the Asia Air website confusing %26amp; full of flaw... it kept insisting that a flight from BKK to HKT on Bangkok Air went via Koh Samui with a change of planes...

that is why I went via a travel agent, who got us a lower rate

Have you looked into discount-Bangkok-hotels.net? I%26#39;ve used them the past three years. They charge your card in American dollars and are less than Asia rooms. Also, there is chiangmai-online.com

that charges your card in THB.

yes RedRoses,

the reason they are %26#39;cheaper%26#39; is because they don%26#39;t offer highend (4--5*) hotels like the Peninsula Hotel in BKK...

We got the Peninsula GRAND DELUXE room (high up) with a breakfast for two for $311 per night with tax/VAT/service charge...

on ASIA ROOMS charged in US $ with a voucher and the name of the hotel in Thai, so we can give it to a taxi driver who doesn%26#39;t speak English when we arrive at the BKK airport...

I checked out them before... and notice that the topend hotels are not on their website... they are actually more expensive than Asia Rooms... they are a much smaller company %26amp; can get the great rates that Asia Rooms can... nor the highend hotels...

For RAFFLES in Siem Reap Cambodia, booking directly with the hotel%26#39;s website was cheaper... ditto for the Sofitel in Siem Reap %26amp; also Le Meridien in Khao Lak... all of which guarantee their direct booked rates to be lowest...

Just used asiareservations.net again - got a great rate of under 7,000 Baht a nite at the Peninsula Bangkok for my mate%26#39;s wedding reception.

the price through the hotel was nearly double that!!

I have just returned from Bangkok and Phuket and made 2 return transfers via Asiareservations.net. On our 1st collection from airport they were 40 mins late and on collection to take us back to the airport they didn%26#39;t bother turning up at all. We rang them and they kept saying ';10mins'; after waiting 30mins we asked the hotel to call them. They told the hotel they weren%26#39;t coming and could we get a taxi, which they would pay for if we called them when we arrived (we did this and they did refund but it was more hassle) On arrival at Phuket there was no one there but one chap with card going to the hotel we were at but with differnent name.Once veryone else had gone he finally realised that it must be us but they had messed up on the names. I won%26#39;t be using them again and wouldn%26#39;t recommend.

Looks kosher enough, but quotes were in American dollars from what I saw. Also saw one hotel quoted (Furama Sukumvit)at 75 Aus$ a night. On wotif for 50$..so not all are cheap as most are about the same.Just be aware of booking fee%26#39;s and currency fluctuation as well.Swings and roundabouts really.
