Simba Boat Tours v Phuket Sail Tours

Hi guys, we%26#39;re off to Phuket next month for our honeymoon, and we%26#39;ve been looking into a boat trip and both of these trips look fantastic.

Can anyone help us pick between the 2?

Has anyone been on both?

Any views will be gratefully recieved.

Thanks!

Both excellent companies who make it their job to ensure you have a day to remember!

Main difference is one is a speedboat (so it goes faster so you see more places) and the other is motorised sail boat so a more relaxed pace.

We went out with Capt Mark and we loved seeing inside the hongs on Koh Phanak.

Hi Scampitherabbit!

Do both if you can! I havent done a simba trip but have only heard GREAT things about them. I have done a day with Cpt. Mark (Phuket Sail Tours) in April 08 and loved loved loved it! We had the best day....and the food - yum.

We will be back in Nov (also on our honeymoon!) and this time have book a sunset dinner trip with Phuket Sail tours. It looks amazing and a very relaxing afternoon! I can not wait.

I hope all your wedding plans are going well - good luck and I hope you have the best day! Might see you for a drink over there (i think im more excited for the honeymoon than the wedding!)

Cheers

Alie :)

Hi there,

Both are great operators and will offer you a great service, i would do the tour with Captain Mark as its a fantastic day out and you will enjoy it. We have done it twice now and 2nd time was just as good as the first.

I have not done Simba but i have heard from many people, Including Captain Mark that they also run a very good operation.

As suggested do both if you have the time.

Cheers, Pete.

Hi, Elise here from Phuket Sail Tours.

Just letting you know that whatever you decide, book quickly to avoid disappointment. We are already booking out really fast, and I hate turning people away. I am sure Simba will be the same.

Hi, I would do both if you can, they can go to different areas so you get the best of both. We did Capt Mark and had a good day out and saw some hongs...would we do it again? no!, it was a good day but not great. Cant coment on Simba but we%26#39;ll try that to Phi Phi next time! Good luck it%26#39;s a hard decision!

We did Simba 10 days ago and loved it. We chose it as it was a speedboat and being faster, could see more in a limited amount of time. Phang-Nga Bay is lovely and full of interesting coastlines. We explored a cave of stalagnites and stalagmites, sea-canoed, visited the Muslim Floating village and relaxed on secluded beaches. It really depends on what you want to do. Most visitors on TA are looking for help deciding on which activities to do so reading these replies will help you. It helped us a lot so good luck.

Both are members of this forum and both are highly praised.

I went with Simba and had a great time.

Thanks for all the advice. We have decided to go with Captain Mark as we like the idea of the sailing boat but both do sound great. Maybe next time we will try out Simba!
